How do you wind a new bobbin?
Place the bobbin, with the holes on the top, on the bobbin winder. Put your selected thread onto the spool pin. Loop the thread around the thread guide, then pull the thread from the inside into the small hole in the top of the bobbin. Wind a bit of thread around the bobbin manually.
How do you start the bobbin on a sewing machine?
Raise presser foot.
- Turn hand wheel toward you until the needle is in its highest position.
- Open the hinged cover.
- Hold the bobbin case with one hand. Insert the bobbin so that the thread runs in a clockwise direction.
- Pull the thread through the slit and under the finger.
- Hold the bobbin case by the hinged latch.
Why is my bobbin not winding?
If your bobbin does not wind quickly and smoothly when you press on your foot pedal, your bobbin winder might not be fully engaged. This can cause uneven winding. Make sure you push your bobbin pin all the way over or loosen your bobbin wheel completely to engage your bobbin winding mechanism.
Where is the bobbin case located?
Front loading bobbin cases are removed and inserted on the side of the sewing machine facing the user. These are the most common on modern machines with a removable bobbin.
